Things to consider while planning Trip with Baby

Travelling with Infants? We planned an International Trip to Dubai with 4 months baby. Below are the important points :

  • Book a direct flight with renowned brands like Emirates and Qatar to ease the experience, though the flight cost are little higher you will not regret it with baby as you need more leg space and space for baby baggage
  • Book a baby Bassinet seat beforehand  so that you can rest easy while your baby sleeps soundly and securely. We can request Bassinet seat for babies upto 2 years old. Seats are in limited number so grab one soon!
  • Bring a Baby travel bag with broad mouth and transparent pouch for quick and easy access to essential items. Emirates provide Baby changing table in bathroom and a small baby kid with essentials like nappy cream, bibs and wipes
  • Be the last one to board the flight as this would make the onboard flight time less
  • Stroller can be brought till the aircraft last gate however also carry a baby carrier in case the baby is cranky. Emirates also provides stroller at airport for moving around in airport. You can get just outside the exit gate of flight
  • Express the milk beforehand to boarding or prepare the formula milk beforehand to avoid hassling and juggling between the various bottle
  • Keep a ear muff or cotton ball to be used while take off and landing
  • If possible keep the baby awake for sometime before the flight so that during the flight baby is tired and looking forward to sleep
  • Pacifier is a must have in case your kid prefers it, or teether might help if not keep few toys to help them engaged
  • Earlier I thought window seat would be the perfect cornering seat  to feed or have a private space however I differ as we were 2 members travelling with baby and it was a hassle to ask the aisle passenger to move every now and then.

Keep calm, and switching duties with both partners to ensure neither of one is overwhelmed. But sometimes it becomes crazy and the baby doesn’t pacifies considering all the method and tips. Best we can do is think that this flight journey will pass soon and you will be at your destination.

Travelling with infant is NOT easy but its definitely possible as only 20% struggle can be accepted with 80% of fun and creating memories with baby and your partner who has just entered parenthood

Dubai is altogether is baby friendly and stroller friendly location. We booked our experience through Thrillophilia and it was amazing. The stay at Taj Dubai was awesome as they kept in  mind everything for baby starting from arranging a baby cot to sterilising the milk bottle. They also provided us complementary baby laundry services which was super needed . They also arranged buffet breakfast for us in room on the day we had to travel back as we were in neck to neck timelines. They arranged free shuttles daily to dubai mall every hour Tajness was on top and the location is prime to Business bay and Burj khalifa for walks and evening strolls with baby.

This was a great opportunity for us as a couple to enjoy our time after so long and as the baby was still small, was sleeping most of the time!

Happy Travels!
